“And it was revealed to him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen he Lord’s Christ.” St. Luke 2:26
According to this text, Simeon was a Jew; He was a just man, and devout, and was expecting and anticipating the coming of the Messiah. God had revealed to him that he would not die before he had seen the Christ. (Messiah).
As we live in the end times, there is an expectancy that the Lord Jesus, could very well come in our day before you or I should die. However, it would be in what we believe to be the rapture of all saints. I have even prayed that the Lord would come quickly, and that I would not have to go by the way of the grave. There again, only Jesus knows, or I should say, only the Father knows that day and hour: But wouldn’t it be exciting if God had told you or me, that we would not die before that day?
We live in a world so filled with trouble and sorrow, and our only hope for a better day, is knowing that our Lord and Saviour is coming soon. Jesus came that we might have life and that more abundantly.
Christmas is all about peace, love, and joy in the Saviour who came as a babe in a manger. God’s gift to all who would receive Him as Lord. “Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men.” (St. Luke 2:14).
Merry Christmas,
Love,
Pastor Larry
